Crisis Intervention

On occasion I provide crisis support to help prevent hospitalization or ease the transition to higher levels of care when needed. My services include wellness checks, emergency psychological evaluations, risk assessments, safety plans, in-home behavior interventions for children and adolescents, and advocacy and referrals for those navigating complex legal, educational, child welfare, and medical systems. I accept only one crisis case a month to ensure that I can dedicate the time and energy necessary to see you through your difficulty. Services are on-call and usually provided in a combination of telehealth and in-person (NYC only). In-person can include home, school, work or accompanying you to a doctor's visit, medical procedure or emergency room.

Typical cases include:

      - An out-of-state parent worried about their college student

      - An adult child worried about their newly confused parent who refuses to see a doctor

      - A person experiencing a devastating break-up or divorce

      - Parents who have found themselves entangled in child welfare services

      - Children/teens who are refusing to go to school

      - School suspensions

      - A therapist who is seeking to layer support for their client during a particularly difficult time

      - Individuals with Autism and/or Intellectual Disability displaying new or challenging behaviors
